Natural
Acoustic Band - Learning to Live
1972
RCA SF 8272 (LP) (UK)
Track List:
Learning to live, Sometimes I could believe
in you, Subway Cinderella, Free, Tom, February feeling, Maybe it was
the sunshine, Midnight study, All I want is your love, Waiting for
the rain, Dying bird, High in my head.
Review:
1972: the last glorious days of UK folk underground...
Natural Acoustic Band made their debut on vinyl combining very nice
pop harmonies with traditional tunes, certainly primary source of
inspiration for Miró in the nineties; though it's hard to find
it's worth while. Shortly after they released their second album going
on the same path.

Review:
Yes we ALL know who they are
now, but they sure fooled many people at the time (some of which
have never lived it down.....).
Londons finest released this exquisite collection of immaculately
rendered garage psych classics onto an unsuspecting audience in
1984, 12 months after releasing Just Call Me Sky as a track on an
LP called The Whip. Everything about this release is truly awesome,
the songs totally rcck out and are sometimes better than the originals
with Naz himself sounding truly authentic. A non stop journey through
Garage/Psych land stopping at all the ‘right’ places along the way
to pay homage to their mentors.
To top this lot off, Naz Nomad & The Nightmares played live
at the legendary Acid Daze festival in London’s Finsbury Park in
1987 and did this in fine style (witnessed by at least 2 of the
Pooterland Crew).
Another undocumented (apart from here) fact is that ‘several’ members
of this outfit played at the 2nd Alice In Wonderland Magical Mystery
Trip in 1984 as ‘mystery band’ The Cockroaches, supplemented
by members of Dr & The Medics (also in disguise) and played
a truly stunning set I can tell you!!!
This LP SHOULD be in YOUR record collection........

Review:

This
album is one of the most sought after psychedelic records of the
1960's. Thanks to the Shadoks re-issue, we can hear it all
in its splendid glory and we also have its superb cover art faithfully
reproduced. Recorded in Northern California or Oregon in 1966, this
record is a classic mid-60's amalgam of blissed-out, west coast,
golden sunshine, mellow, hippie/psych-folk. The Tweedy Bros. clearly
had a wealth of ideas, yet like so many mid 60's bands, they were
still searching for an identity. At times they sound like The Circus
Maximus, or The Leaves, with their cool fuzz ("I Can See It")
and some wild backwards psych-guitar ("Her Darkness In December"),
mixed in with more of their mellow country/folk numbers. However,
given its age, this is an inventive album with superb vocals, and
gorgeous guitar playing throughout every song. You won't
find an original of this baby (and if you do, unless you take out
a second mortgage, you won't be able to afford it), so try and locate
a Shadoks re-issue and enjoy the fabulous sounds of The New Tweedy
Brothers.

Hottrax 5125-60006-2 (CD) (US)
Track List:

Review:
Ladies & gentlemen, let's bow before the
legendary Night Shadows! This compilation marks band's passage from
r'n'r to acid psychedelia: garage punk raised to the nth power from
the Deep South!
