Welcome
to the FIRST and biggest Lightshow Index on the Net
Unique
in the world.....you saw it HERE first!!!
An ingredient
as important as any band at a dancehall in the mid to late 60s
were the lightshows that added stunning visual effects to the
sounds of the music.
One important pioneer of this was Elias Romero who started using
techniques invented by Seymore Lochs, a professor at San Francisco
State University. Romero soon tired of producing lightshows
and by 1965 had abandoned the idea.
While he was in SF, Romero's landlord was one Bill
Ham who used what may have been the first kinetic lighting
effects at a Rock 'n' Roll gig.
The venue?..........the legendary Red
Dog Saloon, Nevada back in 1965.
Soon lightshows were springing up in every dance hall and club
and were an important part of the psychedelic experience.
