Phun City at Ecclesden Common, Worthing, Sussex. Organised by Mick Farren and artist Edward Barker and funded by the International Times. Originally intended to be a paying festival, Phun City turned into Britains first free festival.

The MC5 were on the bill but didnt play (??) Free were also on the bill but would not play for nothing and left the festival.... Stray, Wildmouth, J.J. Jackson, The Pretty Things, Cochise, Mighty Baby, Demon Fuzz, Edgar Broughton, Kevin Ayers, Pink Fairies (playing naked!!), Quiver, Honks, Noir, Mike Chapman, The Liverpool 8, Pete Brown, Sonia Christina, Roger Ruskin and Mungo Jerry do play.
